In accepting the 2021 Jerry L. Martin Prize for Excellence in College Trusteeship, Karrin Taylor Robson, founder of the Regents’ Cup student debate competition at Arizona State University, strongly argued that if we can restore free speech, civil discourse, and democratic engagement in higher education, we will restore education in America. Ms. Taylor Robson was a member of the Arizona Board of Regents from 2017 to 2021. The award was presented on November 11, 2021.
